People tell me the industrial look is very popular which explains why my rebar projects are popular..
Coleman fuel, standard mantles both of which are available a lot of places, even the taboo W store. Dump out old fuel if any is left in it, oil the pump, fill er up n give it a try. What is its born on date on the bottom of the tank?
Posted at another thread. Don’t recall seeing your creation. Pete’s firewood trailer project came out great not to mention welder Dave’s trailer mod. Very talented folks here!
It had a tiny slosh of fuel in it so I shook it out and pumped her up a bit. Seems to hold good pressure and I can hear it come out accordingly when you turn the control knob. As for the born on date.... 6/85 I guess?
How much for a cord? There's a lot of it out here, some pretty nice and some that crumbles apart easily, depends on where you find it.
Found all mine at deer camp, usually bring home a bunch every year. I have some pretty big pieces. some weigh over 200 pounds. I did go out and look at the dates on my lanterns, one was 67, two were 92 and one was 82
200 lbs Wow! I've never found anything that large, most is the size in the picture. A lot of Nevada was under a shallow sea at one time, I'm sure that's why most of what you find here is low quality. I've found some real nice pieces in the Sierra Nevada range just west of me.
There was this one tree that was across one of my wheeler trials and it was huge. I got a bunch of limbs off it but couldn't handle the huge trunk. it was a t least five feet across. They logged that are about a couple years ago and covered it up. I used to have a pic of it on Photobucket, but it is unusable now.
I have always liked the light that is given off through the picketed globes like yours the best! It is a softer light. Nice score!
Thanks! Now I’m in the hunt for a single burner camp stove I think the older model is 502? By the way....... thanks for getting me hooked guys!
It is a slippery slope, my wife has made multiple statements that question a rational need for more Coleman lanterns. She just don't get it!
New toy came today! It’s a 5/68 marked 502 single burner stove. I think the pump seal is smoked but the rest is in good shape so I’m happy especially for under $20! Now I just got to clean it up and figure out how to light it!
Alright Coleman masters!!! I’ve got a question.... the little single burner stove I posted above has got a serious case of dirty rusty tank! What can I do to remedy this? I also noticed the filler cap has a machine screw through the center of it. Is that supposed to be there?
Pic of cap? Probably is made that way, but Lord knows what us hillbillies can cobble n fix with what is laying around . To clean the tank... pop it off, rinse, pour in some red rider bb gun ammo and shake the bejeezes out of it, empty, rinse, reassemble. My bad. Scrolled up and saw it, yup cap is correct.
