Won't hold pressure long. Think its the fuel cap but other than rinsing the tank and a light scrub and new mantles she fired!
I don't want to scratch or etch the nickel. Right by the fuel cap is some really stuck on I'm sure good old fashioned lead oil base asbestos radioactive super paint drips. How would you try to clean the nickel with out hurting it?
I found a neat 242 size clamp for mounting on a boat/canoe. The grooves the old guy cut into the wooden piece is a neat touch..
Found a couple coleman heaters on a local buy/sell site. Kinda outta my price range but if you are interested I can get phone numbers.
I got this one from a coworker this weekend.........With a little research it appears to be an Prentiss Wabers AutoCook Kit, I can't find a model number as this thing has been re-painted. ......I'm guessing it at around 1940..........Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi all, I do not collect Coleman stuff or the lanterns but while cleaning out my Father in-laws house I did come across this lantern. I do not know if it's a collectable but if someone could or want to enjoy it, or add it to their collection I would part with it for a fair price. "Hoarders only" I'm not into the e-bay thing or for profit so if this is something you may like, shoot me a PM.
Full year down, restore on this 242c. Had to repaint, rebuild genny, used grapphite string to repack valve stem..runs like brand new. Also had to remove and fight the check valve.
This is what I have in the camper, don't know how old they are but I've had them a long time. two gas lanterns with case.
