Any opinions on are there higher, lower or no price difference between Coleman vs Sears in 2 burner stoves. I can get one for $25 Sears in olive color or 2 well used Coleman green for $10 for 1 & $15 for the other. What wuldja do?
I think the Sears stoves are a little less common, I also like the looks of the Sears versions a little better, but I wouldn't pay much more than a Coleman labeled one.....
I guess I still have some Coleman CAD, picked up these two yesterday morning on the cheap, both still in near new condition from the original owner, always wanted one of the mini's........
I really like the 226/229 (?) Single burners. Had a couple bikes that I had installed a "T" in the fuel line so I could fuel my lil' 226 when bike camping. The hardshell case is great.
Had a little time today, so I decided to give my Akron lamp a go-over, picked it up last summer and never did anything to it, it did shine up nicely, actually better than I thought it would, cleaned the original genny and valve assy, gave it a few pumps, and off it went, burns quite nicely as well........

Scored 4 white letter globes (288/286) and one red letter 200 globe for 6 bucks a piece yesterday and a complete but ratty 200 lantern with original globe in it for 15 clams! I had him toss an older Coleman propane lantern in on the deal if I took it all, it has white letter Coleman globe in it and the base for the bottom of the bottle, which was Bernz o Matic with a 2.99 price tag on it..and 1/2 full of propane..
Looks like the old Coleman thread needs a bump......Snagged this kinda cool look'n IGA display, measures 11" x 14" and although not a Coleman lantern depicted, the lantern is a Thermos.......Hmmm, now do I have to track down a Thermos lantern to go with it?........
Curious......My brother said he has an unfired looking Coleman surprise for me. The jerk put a stipulation on that he won't mail I have to go see him. He was helping clean an estate house and the people were going to throw "it" away. He is 2 1/2 hrs away so I hope to make it there eventually. Jerk!
Found a few "mules" lately...and a really nice 228E w/original box and globe in good shape..7/59. It's burning now
Had a little time to kill after work today and decided it was time to go-over a nice original 1-63 200a I picked up last fall, hadn't done anything to it since I bought it, and it really only needed minor cleaning, she's a bright burner now.......
A beater Powerhouse with a different globe,,8 bucks, just added fuel and mantles..the lil' 200 is one of the nicer ones I found recently,.In honor of the possible history of old lanterns, I always filet my fishes with a couple burning,,NO electricity at my fish filet table...(that's a cooler full of fishes)
Took this 228 E(?) camping with me,,1959 with original box which is in very good condition, found in the wild for 22.50,,not often I spend that much on a lantern,,very rare to find one in such nice shape..
Had my 288 out this weekend and the last night I started noticing that one mantle is burning much dimmer. If I pump it up it brightens up but eventually dims down again. Ideas? Bug in the pipe, water in the fuel, generator going bad or sasquach is messin with me?
