The platinum pellets burned great but I had to baby the bags I got or they would pop open sending the pellets everywhere but in the hopper on top of the ripped/taped bags ....great I just lost power ....the wind is howling good but tmlp does a great job I don't think in 14 years I been without more than 2 or 3 hours and I live in a rural part of the city
I went to the stove shop the next town over where I bought my stove and picked up 15 more bags of Platinums. He had at least a truckload each of the Plats and Lacretes. I only saw a couple pallets of Cubex but he may have had more on the end of the building or inside. He doesn't seem to have any trouble getting pellets.
I was told by 2 folks actually that storing a ton of pellets in the room is not the best for the foundation. I can't stagger the stacks around the room - they have to sit in the middle of a 10 x 10 room.
Certainly its a regional issue......we've got people we have never seen coming in telling us "noone has any..."
You'd "like" to tell them.. "Yeah... that's why we're saving what we have for our regular customers..." Dan
Yea, well, everyone is a "regular" customer, aren't they? They bought pellets back in '06.......usually go to the BB's, but, well, since they are out, they will do us a favor and come in to buy some pellets.....remember, they are doing us a favor, so, sometime in the future, I'll personally owe them for said favor.......
I'm happy with them. I seem to use less of the Plats than I do Lacrete under similar circumstances. That may because of the difference in the size of the pellets. I'm thinking I'm going to buy them next year instead of the Lacrete.
Always happy with my Vermonts too, but like you - everything in my stash is from prior seasons. Some folks on here reported issues with the batch they bought this season, and the good folks at VWP took care of them by getting them replacement pellets. IHATEPROPANE bought some in the spring and I think has burned some this season. IHP - what say you?
The platinums that I have purchased over the years from henry mcmanus are the best pellets I have burned. A fraction of the ash generated by any other locally available brand including spruce pointe. Have run around 40 bags through since last emptying the ash bucket, there is maybe 2" in the ash bucket of my free standing accentra. Strong bags with almost no dust. They were an excellent deal at $250/ton and $19 delivery, I see that the price went up, may try north country next year, hope they are as good.
Well the other night I only lost power for an hour and a half not bad but power just went out again and just got a unverified report the whole city is out of power...not good guess I'm going out to old school it. ...I mean shovel some white chit
I think they are very good, as well. Currently burning them in my shop. @$249 a ton.. these days... a great value. (imo) Henry tries to have one brand, better than BBS, at the same or lower price. Dealer cost is going up next load, but I think he is holding the North Country at the same price.. Dan
I've burned both , and still have a few in my stash , both awesome pellets and at that price all day every day
Like them both a lot too. They are just good products, nice heat and light ash. It's really an especially good deal great at the price Henry sells them for.
Local HD and Canadian Tire are out of stock again, winter is not letting us of the hook just yet More way below normal temps heading my way starting tonight, -8*F and lower and continuing during the week
