Yes, I know that people were open carrying outside the capitol grounds. However, I still wish people had not disarmed themselves on the capitol grounds. One of the new laws will give individual cities of Virginia the right to enact their own laws outside of the state laws; that is troublesome and how are we to know the laws of thousands of cities across the state? Yes, it wasn't a protest but rally.
Agree 100%. It will be interesting to see what happens going forward for sure. I do believe this whole thing has been quite the eye-opener to many...
The only ones whom voluntarily disarmed were the ones that went into the cuke cage to lobby with the speakers on Capitol grounds. Nearly everyone else was peacefully armed including the police. Why would you even question what would happen if they asked the police to stand down? That's provocateur talk! Jan 20 is the date for the VCDL'S annual gun lobby day. The bills only passed the general assembly at that time and weren't even to the house yet. Talking like that would get many into trouble quick! There's a process, let's see what the Senate does and see what happens from there.
The guy with the 50 was from new york or somewhere up yonder...which is interesting that non VA residents showed up to support. I did not make it, but know several ppl who did including my father in law. They said it was very peaceful, no waves at all. The attendees even cleaned up after themselves. And everyone agrees that there were WAY more people in attendance than the news reported. Imagine that....
Yep. For now. They're probably drafting something worse for next time... Guns were flyin off the shelves!
Stupid politicians of a certain party are a gunseller's best friend. Can't keep the guns or ammo on the shelves.
Thank you Felter ..... And Scotty Overkill, the founder of this site has laid it out clearly as well... y’all agreed when joining up, and several times since- No Politics. That is all...... carry on.
perhaps you should avoid this topic if it upsets you and let others discuss it,this is a tremendous victory for every citizens rights in this country ,even yours
it does not upset me. thank you for your concern though. for me its more about respect. Scotty has been dealing with some injuries and set backs lately. please check his post, Slowly getting back after it..... I sure wouldn't want to cut trees all day then come home to be a moderator/owner of an internet site. we should work together to, at least, not make his life harder. we should all be respectful of scotty and his rules.
respect would be just passing by the post ,i do that at times ,no need to whine and run my mouth ,your wonderful city of chicago is the cause for so many of these stupid laws ,if you are so concerned why not try to do something local in that battlefield of a city
