I’m most familiar with the STIHL pro saws so let me try and come up to speed ... a 365xtra/torque is a copy of the 372xp except for the stickers and transfer covers ? so to convert a 365 to a 372 and gain the hp you simply remove and replace a cover ? No grinding / porting ? It makes sense that if the saws are both the same cc’s and one is 5hp (365) and one is 5.5 (372) that there’s restrictions and or different porting ... not sure ... never peered into one but interested in doing so

Cannot buy transfer covers that I know of. There is a divider/fence in the 365 covers that can be easily removed with a dremel making them the same as the 372 covers, which do not have the dividers. I'm not 100% sure that you can't buy the covers, but was thinking they are part of the P&C assembly from Husqvarna. I've read that Husqvarna detunes the 372 to offer a saw at a specific price/performance level.

I did not buy my 2166 with this knowledge but learned it later after doing some reading/researching. I have been on the fence about doing the mod.

After careful consideration I think I’m going with the STIHL MS 461 ... with some “flow enhancements” they really come alive !!!
