Thanks for the info everyone. I'll pick up those rods next time there. I bought cheapie pipe outlet muffin for the 2150 and I'd like to use the original outlet location with a larger diameter pipe. Sounds like a good project for this winter.

I use 5 psi on both. Don't remove all of the flux just most of it.

Depending on tip size, I use 5 psi on acetylene and anywhere from 5 psi O2 (welding/brazing/heating) to 40 psi for cutting. The gas suppliers do like you using higher pressures though.

There is no such thing as MAPP gas anymore, the map/pro yellow is polypropylene and is hotter than propane but not as much as acetylene. I don't use it as I have oxy/act torches.

With a flame temperature in air of roughly 3450°F, propane burns cooler than propylene. This can be a weakness or a strength, depending on the experience of the person using the torch.
Manufacturers that once supplied MAPP gas, which has been discontinued, are now pushing propylene fuel. It has many of the same attributes as MAPP gas, including a higher price tag. However, that cost buys you greater performance.

    Pros
    • Has a flame temperature in air of roughly 3600°F, so it can be used to braze metal
    • Burns hot enough to overcome the thermal effects of small amounts of water in plumbing lines, making it great for remodeling tasks
    • Heats pipe and fittings 20% to 24% faster than propane, decreasing overall labor time
    • Suitable for soldering or brazing pipe 1/8 in. to 3 in. in dia.

    Shamelessly stolen from google

Aluminum does in fact "rust" aluminum oxide melts @ 3650° and aluminum melts @ 1200° if you do not remove it and TRY and weld it you are in for a headache.

Kinda hard to find nowadays - back in the day it was all nitro powered birds ... now it’s all electric ... best bet is to search Heli forums from across the pond- in the meantime depending on saw you can purchase a few keys and try .20 then .040 etc ... the tach is a useful tool - however I prefer testing in the Wood ... your mileage may vary !

:Yar: Not talking about the weld talk either.....

Had a chance to tinker a bit this afternoon and test out the muffler, or lack there of...:D I ended up popping the little carb screw stop inserts out and grinding off the tabs for easier full adjustment turning without pushing them in. Definetely needs a bit more tuning I think yet, but there’s a noticed improvement I see in throttle response and in the cut some too. I noticed the plug as it was running before the mod was a bit gray. I had the screw backed all the way to the stop at 1 1/4 turns so I think I’m kind of glad I did this just for the adjustment.
    I’ll have to get a video:binoculars:

Can get a 365/2166 cheaper and grind the port covers.

Not too familiar with either model ... are you saying that the 365 and 2166 are detuned via ports from a 372 and a 2172 ?

Correct. Every aspect of the saws, excluding the stickers and the transfer covers are identical. The only disadvantage (Jonsered) is that you cannot convert to high top air filter cover...well, you could, but it would be quite homely looking IMO. :) I believe the 365 will accept the 372 *top cover with no issues if you want HD filtration.

Yes. And yes on the x-torque (newer models). I believe the older 372/365 did not have covers?
