I will cut and pull as much baffled out as possible and open up the exterior to 80% or so of the port size.

I did that on the quakes I have and it made them almost 50-100% faster in the cut!!!

I got my dads old Poulan 3700 running again last fall after it sat for several years. Still runs good for a 30 year old saw.

I've got a Woodshark 1950 I picked up years ago at a Menards 'cram it in a bin and get 20% off' sale. Good limbing saw. Cost me around $70.

More than once I've contemplated selling my MS 290 and getting an older Poulan Pro. That's usually when the 290 pulls its 'doesn't want to start when hot' trick.

Well just got back from doing the deal.

Turns out it started like a dog, had a broken chain brake, stumbled getting up to WOT and had easy adjust chain.

I told him if it was ok shape id do it but dont want another project. That I could get it to work but I did not want to fix and tinker with it. I backed out, he said well would it take the saw and $20 I said its not really a money thing I wanted a running g saw to play with but did not feel like building the carb on it. Would need an L adjusted on carb to start better as well.

He said would you just sell the trolling motor. I said sure make an offer. I told him I got it new at bass pro, they sell for $109. He said would $80 buy it, I said it sure will!!!! I have had the thing like 8 years. Now it looks brand new out of the box but I was happy with that!

We got to talking and he said he was looking to buy another saw. And if he did he may just give it to me. I said wellllll I do happen to have a "like new" in the box 45cc Earthquake saw for sale right now. Got it listed for $120 but it didnt come with a chain, so I will take $100. I said your chain off that saw will work on that one anyway.

He said I'll keep your number and maybe we can make a deal on that one.

So I go to trade the guy something for a saw and possibly end up selling him a saw in the end, plus selling something I dug our of my closet that I forgot about!!

I have a neighbor that has a little poulans wild thing. I think he said he paid 80 or 90 bucks for. He has had it foe 3 years or so, cuts 8 plus cords of wood a year and he gust cut up a 20 ft stem white oak that was 42" across with his little 18 in bar. It was quite the site I offered to use my big saw on it but he does not take help well. ( independent young man)
But he got the job done , the saw still runs and is probably cutting wood with it this weekend.
I ran it once for three cuts but my arthritic hands could not take it. He uses the crap out of that thing and when it brakes he will go buy another for under a $100 bucks.

He has more patience than I!! They work, if you keep the "blade " sharp and use good oil and fuel they will run well. After having one you really can't describe the vibrations to someone who uses a saw with AV of any type!!

got the realtree i snagged from fuzz up and run'n, also saved a craftsman 2.1 that i had kick'n around to use as a back up, oddly the craftsman says 2.1 on recoil decal but 40cc on the ID decal.........the realtree states 36cc, both seam to run pretty good as is, but they may get a little extra "massaging".........:D IMAG0143.JPG IMAG0144.JPG

I think the wild things are anywhere from 38-42cc depending on exact model
