yes there are Many differences between English, American and Australian which could be discussed so if for no other reason then to not appear as foolish as I did

Per example Americanso try to not use toilet usually say bath or rest room.. over seas say toilet.. otheraise you will be given an odd look and be shown a bed room to rest or a bath room.. toilets in Australia (many countries) are in separate room off bathroom .. most do not have sinks which is NOT the most sanitary!

Also in North Eastern US Fanny is a woman's first name or reference to the buttocks.. in Australia it is common slang for a woman's private parts...

Imagine trying to explain Fanny Allen hospital (got a care package in their box) to Australian imigrant in an esl (English 2nd lang) class that without that piece of knowledge... considering it is a Catholic hospital run by nuns! It was
