I was always taught not to borrow. I figure it like this, if I borrow something and break it I have to fix it or buy a new one. Also I figure if I need it once I'll probably need it again. Got burnt real bad letting my FIL borrow stuff. He treats it like it's his. No maintenance, run hard and put away wet. I am picky with who I let borrow stuff.
I have done the same kind of thing before. The loaned item comes back in great shape and fueled up but I ram a big dent in the garage door putting it back inside! No good deed goes unpunished!
I haven't asked to barrow anything in quite a few years, I've worked real hard at being self sufficient. Oh well if someone thinks I'm an A.H. for not being the Bank! Maybe I'm jaded, maybe I'm not a good enabler, but it keeps me free from resentments........... I've been burned too many times!
A neighbor woke me up yesterday morning pounding on my door, can you float me 2K? I said no I'm tapped out.....Oh but they need me on a BIG FIRE in California, I thought I could count on you.......... Oh well, maybe he should stay out of the Casinosyou can't win if you don't play I live in Nevada and Casinos get ZERO money from me.
Im SO unlucky......if I plan on going into a casino, I ought to just pull out my wallet and throw it in the doors and keep walking....will save me effort and aggravation. Its why I dont gamble......those casinos are built with someone's money.......
Oh but its sooooo much fun! ...not... Now if you wanna have a real blast...try throwin a few bills out the window while drivin down the highway!
My wife and I went to Atlantic City about five years ago. We had never been to a casino before. It was an interesting experience, but we doubt we'll ever go to a casino again. We don't have the gambling bug I suppose. I have more fun just buying a few scratch-offs or a powerball ticket at the local gas station if I am in the gambling mood.
It happens from time to time. When I was in Vegas while in USAF, would take $35 down to the casinos, play a bit of blackjack, drink a few free drinks, get a nice meal with winnings, and if I went home broke that night so be it. I've squandered more than $35 foolishly before.
