Everything I did was needed to make it playable. I didn't alter varnishes or anything like that. I dont think that would be the issue at all. I just know that some musicians can be pretty particular about who touches their instruments. I know I can be. I really doubt that it will be an issue. I hear that the dad is just thrilled to hear a violin being played. Since his was left in storage for so long, he will probably just be thrilled to hear it played once again. Besides, he's 95 years old, how hard can it be to run away?! Just kidding. I really dont expect there to be a problem, but the thought did occur to me that it isn't outside the realm of possibility. I would feel really bad if he was mad. Especially since the point of everything is to be really touching.
Its pretty cool to see an instrument go from wooden pieces and parts to a "living" instrument. There really is a subtle transformation that happens. They have their own character.
Sounds as tho you're in for a very special moment at the surprise event. The violin is going to look like it always has to him and... it's going to sound great too. Wish I was going to be there. Looking forward to your pics. When is it going to be presented to him?
Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. I am going to play this next Saturday. I am probably going to film it and I might put it on Youtube. We'll see how it goes.
It has a warm deeper tone to it. Its a nice Violin to play. Hopefully, if I get video of it this Saturday you can hear it for yourself.
In comparison I listen to a lot of violinists while reading, as compared to the usual rock/metal I listen to while splitting wood. Best way to describe it.
Ha Ha Ha, ok I get where your coming from! It is soothing music. I was hoping that were weren't saying that it was like reading a technical manual!
Depends on how it's played. Take a violin, call it a fiddle and throw it into a Bluegrass band. Should wake you right up.
