    Woot.. :rootintootin:

    20200321_183506.jpg

    Antenna finally in the air.
    :D

Had to have a friend help getting the mast up.

SWR is too high, so I'll talk to another friend who has an antenna analyser.

It'll need dropped and worked on, but I'm a step closer.
Could hear some contacts, but they couldn't hear me.

Edit.. Antenna as ~22' in the air.

    No, tied off currently.

I'm planning on just enough weight on each end to allow for swaying.

It'll need readjustment anyway, a lot of small branches that I'm sure will end up breaking after the first good wind gusts.

I can't remember where I saw it, but it consisted of a post and a weight. Looking forward to the completed project. Once the kinks are worked out, it'll be really cool!

Hi, thanks!! I didn't get there, dinner and kiddo and old sick dogs etc. I'll have to get back at it tomorrow. Need to pull up the links you and well seasoned have offered again, owners manual sparse.

Plus watching some news/info online and trying not to flood kiddo with all this on the tv.... though she patiently waited through the press conference today that accidently reset to the beginning after a half hour in. No doubt you know.

    Had some HF fun today.
    :dancer:

Had 3 solid contacts, Maine, Colorado, and Virginia.

Got 2 in the log, wasn't ready when I hit the Maine QSO party.

Good fun, but some couldn't receive me with only 100W.

WS.. Are you on HF? Or just VHF for now?

    Any others active on HF?

Chaz, looks like you are having lots of fun with this..

Hopefully within the next few days I'll be joining the club, to some extent. I don't like tying myself to overbearing nanny government with licenses, so may just be listening mostly. But we'll see. I would like to broadcast, will have to look into the legalities of it all. Ordered the Baofeng DM-1701 & a Baofeng x Radioddity UV-5RX3 | Tri-band.

I wonder if we can all get call signs to the effect of FHC_ _ _ _ ?

I don't transmit but on both. I'm not really sure if Hf. Always listening to other countries around the globe from thedigital cannon repeater. It's really amazing. If the net goes down there are ways to still do things net related. Nodes ect, but I haven't looked that far.

Setting these up can be complex. The only way to get a call sign is by getting licensed, which isn't something I have done so i cannot transmit

Wow! That's a serious tower there. Have you/will you do anything for lightening protection?

Can't get FHC.... call signs, but I admit that when I was researching Vanity call.. I was tempted by W2FHC as it is available.
