Any experience with an infra-red paint stripper?

Do they work? I need to strip a floor, maybe 1000 sq ft. total.

It doesn't need to be fast necessarily, though, it looks like they work pretty quick.

It looks like they are pretty new on the market but it seems like a good idea. The first one I saw was irpaintstripper.com . That one is 400w at $99.
I saw an instructables for one at 1k watts and he says that it might be a little too strong (but definitely works).
I think it is just the heating element... would I be an idiot if I just got an element and put a plug on it? This is a 500w element for $20.

    ??
I also saw a few "commercial" quality ones for $450.
I would use this for floors (I have an entire upstairs full of beautifully... i mean terribly... painted floors) but, I could see this being useful for other applications too- chair railings, moulding, winter saunas...

I was looking at them and I might pick up one to give it a shot. I like the infra red so I can use it for lead paint.
