Im in the kitchen a few minutes ago. Back door is open and I hear a familiar "ick"...RBG call. Minute later it lands on the feeder. She was all excited. Her favorite bird. Saw the female after. IMG_7235.JPG

    Woo Hoo!

I was just making tea and there was a downy on the hummingbird feeder. It seemed like it was drinking nectar. H bird flew in and hovered, watching the downy for a few seconds as though to say "hey this is my food"

Do you have good vantage points for your feeders Mike?

Oh yes. From the living room, I can see three. 2 close to the house and one over by the property line/stone wall. The 4th is off the deck, viewable when at the kitchen sink.

I heard an oriole in our area and she decided to put a feeder out for them with an orange half. We haven't seen anything yet.

RBG's and hummingbirds are steady regulars. I hear the pileateds every now and then.

I sent a picture of my first oriole sighting last weekend, to my mom. She put her orange feeder out then and hasn't seen one yet. She said the only oriole that's been to that feeder has been the ring eyed bandit.

I saw a hummingbird go up to the suet feeder briefly yesterday morning. I usually don't put a feeder out for them. Just too much hassle. Have done it in the past but i don't get enough to empty the feeder before it goes bad.

The female oriole came back. Tried a different angle this time.

We took the suet feeder down. Just the hummingbird and seed feeders up plus the orioele feeder.

It hangs from the rain gutter and the rain hitting it makes the back window a bit messy and she HATES when the window gets dirty. Plus its our normal MO to switch suet for the hummingbird feeder.

There have been times I've stopped the sunflower seed too. Not in recent years though with the RBG's around.

I can definitely see that making a mess. I'm not a fan of touching them most times. Frozen ain't bad.

Ahh..... good idea. My mom can't put up suet cakes cause my dads conviced they attract woodpeckers, who then peck at the wood siding on the house.

I leave the suet feeder out year long. The bluebirds have been around, in numbers, and I only see them on the suet.

Great pic. Is it rare to see them both at the same time?

My favorite is catching a goldfinch and cardinal together. Haven't seen a goldfinch for a few days. Cardinals are regulars.

This is the first year that either one has been a regular at the feeder. So far been around a little over a week or so. We'll see for how long. Seeing a female oriole and several indigo buntings (3 at once) is promising.

I gotta try and get some variety pics. It's surprising sometimes how many different colors can get along at the feeder.
