Went out to check on the nest for more eggs and momma robin didn't fly away when I approached. It's right outside the front door in the shrub. Went and got the camera. I was three feet away. Zoomed pic IMG_5304.JPG

It's a northern rough-winged swallow nest. Not my picture.

Been a week or so, I should check this for eggs.

And a Robin unsuccessfully tried making a nest on our back porch. Wind blew it away twice before they gave up.

We've had swallows build a nest on the light fixture above the front door. Moss crumbs and bird poop on the mat. :picard: They didn't build one this year.

My parents used to get barn swallows above their outside spotlight fixtures for years. Was talking with them about it the other day and they said the swallows haven't been back for several years.

Phoebes that raised in a nest on a light fixture. 4 eggs, 4 raised.

Saw roughly 60 Mississippi Kites flying today. It looked like a vulture tornado. Wish I had taken a picture.

We saw the 1st hummingbird of the year, buzzing the one feeder that was out. My other feeders go out today.

Finally was able to get a pick of the male rose breasted grossbeak. Heard his song too. Common sound around here in the warm weather. IMG_5340.JPG

I feel so bad for them being crammed in there, but its natures way.

We get the RBG's, but very rarely.

It's nice to see them on your feeder with sunflower seeds. That's what I always have available.

No pictures, but there was a 2nd sighting of a male hummingbird taking a long drink.

I have 4 feeders deployed, including an oriole feeder.

With the male taking a long drink, he'll be back along with others.

Temps in the 70's will only hurry along the full arrival
