Yeah maybe someday I'll get a new phone. Always wanted a dslr camera but the new phones have better cameras. Maybe not for distance though? Idk. Something to research a different day.
I had a Red Tail visit my feeders the other day. Landed in a tree by my feeders, missed getting a picture. No casualties, major scatter though. I have seen evidence it's been here before. Everyone has to eat, I guess.
Country pigeons that are smaller and have that great mourning coo. Dislike city pigeons but love mourning doves.
X2. Filthy disgusting birds. They make their nest out of their droppings. Ive cleaned out rain gutters filled to the top with their poop...yuck!
A couple morning doves. Probably the same two I've been seeing lately. If you look close at the feeder there's one and that brown spot on the ground is one. A group of turkey yesterday morning. It amazes me how much the color changes on the males head. Last picture shows it best.
Not so much for this area but more particular slightly around this house. It's thick woods mostly around here and a small acreish opening for the house. Haven't seen them regularly since i moved here. My grandma liked them too. Plus i like their sounds and looks. From their wings taking off to their gentle coo cooing. Something different.
When we were in northern NH a week or so ago we came across some Grey Jays. Pretty cool they will fly right up and land on you if you have food for them. We used a granola bar. The pic is not of me so the face is blurred.
Birds have been going nuts at the feeders since the day before last weekend's storm. Nothing new at my feeders, just more of them. Will have to quit feeding them soon as the local bear should be waking up soon.
Mine have been going through suet cakes like crazy. Put the last one in there yesterday and she says hummingbird feeder going up after which I think is too early. At least a month before they show up. Just bought a new hummingbird feeder too.
Same here. Suet cakes being devoured by mostly woodpeckers (hairy, downy, and the larger flickers and red bellied) and bluebirds.
We don't get a lot of the big woodpeckers, but I did see a flicker on it the other day and the red bellied is fairly regular. Lots of nuthatches, chickadees and titmice make quick work of them.
