You might remember my wooden wall phone project. My "antique" telephone project The wood came from an antique dresser that I had to demo. As I laid out the phone, I left enough of the curved, molded front edge of the dresser top for another project. Here it is. The back and sides are the saved front edge of the dresser top. The front is a section of a drawer front, complete with original lock. And the bottom is reclaimed oak wine flavor sticks. The red color is from the wine, not a canned stain. The handles are the original drawer handles.
I like it, nice re-purpose. The old holes and hardware are part of the story of the piece. I do a bit myself. One customer had an old maple dining room table that she asked me to make into serving trays for her family members. I planned out the material to figure the sizes and ended up with these. The cup pulls are new though. A few months after she asked if I could make something with the legs and skirt boards. I made three side tables for her living room.
