Not really fall, but a sign of something.

Snow tax weekend? Is that a taxachusetts thing? I hope no politicians drive by and get any ideas   (CT is no better) I should probably fire up my old Simplicity soon before it's an emergency and I'm cleaning out the carburetor as the snow is piling up outside.

Had the windows open the last 2 nights. Lows around 60 or so and finally a break in the humidity but it’s short lasting...have the air on now lots of humidity and temps around 90 again for a while

The temperature was 43 degrees here at camp in the white mountains yesterday morning. Hints of color in the woods. It won't be long....

Two days of no 6.25% sales tax. There are some limits and exclusions. Stores do quite a bit of business - most often at list price.
Saves a drive to NH for the possible 5-10% sales on Labor Day weekend.

Leaves have been dropping off the walnut trees already and the patch of leaves on the tree line that turn early have already gotten red.

Every year at the same spot.

Usually there are (immature) walnuts lining the sidewalk on my daily hike this time of year. Not one.
There are however tons of tiny dried up well undersized red oak tree acorns lining the ground everywhere.
I've got undersized grapes turning purple. Had to put nets over them to keep the deer and turkeys away.

I left the house with the heat on this morning. 3 hours later I left my shop with the AC on due to the solar gain in the truck.

Sure have, just last week in the evening I noticed that it started getting darker a bit earlier. After remnants of Laura moved out late Saturday we had a beautiful cool front come through. Sunday was beautiful and during my walk early Sunday for the 1st time I got a hint of that fall weather feeling, cool crisp air. I really do the love the fall weather............

Leaves on Dogwoods are turning with some drop, Poplars are dumping more than usual and acorns are bouncing and rolling down my roof, but it’s still gonna be 90 tomorrow. :emb:

Went for a long drive today. Surprised how many beans are turning. Also lots of signs of corn beginning to ripen. And yes, some leaves turning.

Forecast says it should feel more like fall this weekend.

I feel fall here, much of the time we go directly from summer to winter, but this year we are having some fall. Nippy at night! Stove on, windows closed. Still gets warm by afternoon though.

This is the time of year that I start counting the weekends down until the cold weather hits and outdoor projects slow up. I have to think in my mind what needs to get done before that.

Geese have been overhead many evenings landing in the fields up the street. Crabapples are just about ready to pick. Shorebirds are migrating along the coast.

Sounds like an abrupt change in seasons. What is your elevation there?

I don't know the exact but between 7200 and 7450. Most falls since I've been here have went from very warm to freezing, so this fall is new and nice.

Hope fall stays around long enough for y'all to enjoy it! The 7500 elevation explains how fast the seasons usually change.
