We made friends with Mr Gary when we were doing the big job next door a year or so ago. He has a small sawmill and got the pines from that job. He had a big oak taken down and gave us the top...2 trailer loads He cut a few pines and oaks down, we moved the pine to his mill and brought the oak home... I told him we would help with the other trees...he marked 4, then it became 6... Miz Carol got some good drop shots... 1st tree coming down Safe landing... Next was the double stem oak... I was a bit nervous, as we had swirling winds that day Headed to the ground The remaining stem had a back lean, so the Kubota was called into service... Learned something on this drop, needed a wider notch, hinge broke early, went farther right than I wanted... Only got 3 down Wednesday, 1 load home...9 and 10'6" logs. Still have this pile left, plus other trees to drop... The 'Bota was handling these logs nicely... Yes Sawdust Man ,this farwood hack is at it again.
.Great work there folks. Always nice when a job leads to another when working next door. How well is Ms. Carol at felling? Wanna see some pics video of her in action. Im amazed at how your leaves are almost all the way out. Just barely budding up here.
We went back to the site this morning. He had dropped a tall pine, we moved the 2 16' logs to his mill, the 12'er to the pulpwood pile and cut another 15' pulpwood log out of the top. Started piling limbs into 2 burn piles, then loaded the trailer with the leftover oak. Miz Carol got a bit of tractor time, Brad that's about all the action she's gonna do......I'm just glad she goes with me and helps... Got most of it on this load, maybe 8-10 shorter, small pieces left.
