The sub $10 county line is the cheapest I’ve seen. I would buy at $8. It’s always around $14 at the closest TS.
I was just in Home Depot and their Powercare brand was about $15, and the Echo was about $20. No bar oil hoarding for me today
I bought a gallon of this winter stuff a couple weeks ago to put in the hoard. It was at Rural King. I think it was 11 bucks. Seemed pretty thin when I shook the jug. Trying to keep 'stock' above 5 gallons on the cold weather stuff....even if the cold weather hasn't been around a lot lately. It'll be back sometime.
I'm about to win the you suck award.... My nephew owns a small engine repair business out of his home shop. Rotary has a sale on bar oil if you buy a 4 gallon case. $3.72 a gallon his cost. I have two cases on the way.
He gave me one of their ( Rotary) copperhead full chisel .325 chains to try. I think its every bit as good as Oregon. I have a few tanks on it with my 543XP.
I don't know how good it is but its better than no bar oil. This puts me back up to 14-15 gallons. Enough for a looong time.
Had to go to town for a parts run for work today. Local Buchheit had mystik bar oil for $7.99 a gallon, also had had harvest king at the same price unless you were one of their “rewards” members. Then it was $6.99 a gallon. I’m now a “rewards” member and have 4 more gallons of bar oil in the hoard. On an unrelated note I checked out their splitters, 2 in stock outside. One really caught my attention. 28 ton, and painted right on the beam it claimed a 10.4 second cycle time and 14 gpm pump. Sticker price was $899 i believe. It didn’t look much different than any other common splitter but it had a couple strange pieces on it that I couldn’t figure out what for. I wish I would’ve took some pictures. But the longer I looked at it the harder it was getting to walk away from. It was a really cool olive drab color and I had a big trailer with me with lots of room on it.
This it? https://www.homedepot.com/p/FULL-BO...c-Gas-Log-Splitter-49-State-H6028FB/324792889 Should have snagged that one!
Yep, I couldn’t remember the name. But after I posted about it, I googled it and found out that it was actually probably a hell of a deal. One picture I found showed a log lift and a table. So that’s probably what the odd pieces on it were for.
I just mentioned it to the wife and she asked if I needed another splitter, “ what’s wrong with the one you have?” But that price is probably gonna keep me awake all night!
Just for a laugh go to the Home Depot website and search for chainsaw bar oil. Check out the price for a gallon of Echo bar oil. I thought it was a mistake at first but it's been that way for days now. And to think, 2 years ago you could get it for $12 a gallon if you bought at least 4 gallons.
Went to Walmart this evening. First time in a long while. They were putting out spring gardening supplies. Not impressed with their oil supply.
I was at TSC again this morning getting chicken feed and checked on the bar oil prices. The New Englander discount is now up to $17 or $18 per gallon (marketed as winter oil formula, all they had in stock) I can't remember the exact figure but I grabbed another full chisel chain for my Husqvarna and kept walking. Unreal. Good thing I'm not in dire need of bar oil yet and I have enough 2 cycle to last me the next 10 years.
