I just got a gallon of this mixed up after a tree job today. I haven’t used any yet. It looks pretty similar to the premixed stuff. I bet it looks the same after it gets cold like the premixed stuff is. I should know next week when it gets really cold if the stuff behaves any different in sub zero temps.

this is what the premixed stuff looks like after it sits awhile. IMG_3764.jpeg

a few shakes of the jug and it’s back to a uniform color. Side by side comparison IMG_3765.jpeg

So far it hasn’t been really cold here. It’s been in the 20s a couple mornings where I’ve used it though. It’s working okay so far as I’ve noticed. Will know more next week when winter finally sets in here.

As long as it pours, it should be fine, as it will warm up/thin out in the saw.

Do you leave the saws empty after use? I wonder if it seperates in the oil tank over night.

Nope saws get shelved pretty much in the condition they were in at the end of the day. Unless they need something special like a new chain. I know, I know, poor maintenance… blah… blah… blah. But at the end of the day I’m dog tired and in no mood to spend another hour polishing saws. I will usually work a half day on Friday or Monday on equipment maintenance to prep for the week ahead.

As an example of how I roll this 24-26” locust was removed in a day by me by myself. IMG_3492.jpeg IMG_3493.jpeg IMG_3496.jpeg

That separation is after weeks of the stuff sitting on a shelf. It doesn’t separate all that quickly day to day.

I went to my local HD for a few things. I always wander through the chainsaw area, just cuz.

They had oil and Echo products locked up.

Good deal. I shake my mix every time I use it so shaking some bar oil every once in a while is no biggie.

The Walmarts in our nearest "city" have all the paint locked up like that because of the thugs spray painting stuff all over the store.

I’m the same way. I usually give both a habitual 5ish second shake. Not sure why I started to shake the bar oil. Maybe just carry over from shaking the mix.

Thanks Brian. I take pride in leaving the job site looking like I was never there.

Sad world we live in. Our Walmarts even have little things like automotive light bulbs locked up. Just sad if you ask me.

Yep, our local Walmart he's deodorant, not locked...but you have to lift a plexiglass plate to access it and it talks once you get into it! Crazy

Ours recently had that installed for some medications. It made me curious so I started looking around and I belive they have a special camera linked to the plexiglass that turns on when you lift it.

I lost track of the number of times I've seen display saws in box stores missing oil and gas caps, even a couple missing clutch covers. Have also seen those saws show up on ebay, open box, missing those parts.

Well it’s currently 6degrees in the F here. This bar oil alternative appears the be slightly thicker but I would totally run it. Color me surprised given the warning on the bottle. Unfortunately it still looks like jizz:rofl:
