I never followed up with this. I ended up with 13.5 cords the winter of the original post.

Then the following winter (of '24) I ended up with a hair over 23 cord.

Then this winter I ended up with 17.75 cords.

This puts me at a total of ~103 cords split/stacked. The heights of my stacks used were measured at time of stacking, so they have shrank some over the years as the wood has dried out.

Since 2014, when I bought my Kuuma, I have burned ~55 cord, sold 20 cord and accumulated over 100 cord.

This winter I have started to cut the smaller diameter stuff to shorter lengths that I drop off at the neighbors house, who has a wood stove. This is something I'm going to continue to do, seeing I'll be running out of room to stack here soon. This winter I cut and dropped off somewhere around 4-5 cord for him.

Looking back, being a first time wood burner, it's crazy to think I was once concerned I wouldn't be able to keep up with what I burn every year. I remember busting my butt early on to get three years ahead. Since then I've just been only cutting during the early winter months. The last handful of years I've been doing the majority of my cutting from about mid December to early January. I then start splitting/stacking as soon as the snow melts so I'm not stacking on snow. Sometimes I'm done splitting/stacking in March and sometimes in April, but I'm always done right around the time the trees start to bud. This is my winter exercise program that I look forward to every fall and I get a great sense of accomplishment every spring when it comes to a close.
