Beautiful pictures and country...Thanks for sharing!! Pretty sure my wife would have gotten out of the truck and walked down the descent...Some pucker factor for sure.!
@campinspector has experience in going down steep hills with big machinery so I wasn't worry about this trip down the hill.
I can tell you were not worried...Hanging out the window taking pictures of the truck 6" from the edge of a thousand foot drop!!
We have been staying in one place for a while. Here are some pictures of getting here. Left really early and tried to get some sunrise pictures. We are heading south east. I know, I know - it isn't heading north but we will get there. Headed back down into desert ranch country. With irrigation, silage corn can be grown. Long trains in this area. Finally got to see the engines. The train had stopped, waiting its turn through the pass. Second train going the other way was stopped as well. More ranch country and Shadow's nose prints on the window. Central Okanagan area has many lakes. We traveled up one yesterday to go visiting friends. This morning on the way to breakfast we crossed over this floating bridge. The section past the open supports is floating on the water. Someone decided to take their helicopter for a ride. As it is quite an old one, I hope it wasn't going to its final resting place. Today the weather was perfect. Clear blue skies, temps about 70 to 72 F. A/C had to run in the trailer. We are staying the summer recreation area of British Columbia. During the summer, the area is packed with people. Winter skiing has people coming here as well.
Sweet. Yes, the floating bridge is neat. There is one in MI. A short bridge over a small river in Manistique.
Well, the week wait is over and we picked up our new-to-us unit on Monday. campinspecter found a great deal on a used model a bit bigger than the one we had. They are hard to find this year. Our old one on the left and the new one on the right. Comes with an electric jack, separate shower and a bed that you can walk up either side of. 2 feet longer than the older one. Packed and ready to hit the road. Tuesday, we headed south along Okanagan Lake. I know, it isn't north. The dealership we purchased it from isn't a r-pod dealer so we were headed down to a dealership to get some answers about winterization. Now we are headed north - back up along the lake we just came down. We headed up the hill to the pass. Weather started out not too bad. Headed north west over a mountain pass into the next valley. It was getting murky. There is a wind farm in this picture. More pics of the wind farm. I know, you don't believe me. Reached the town we are camping in, and the rain quit, the sun came out but it is quite windy. We will decide where we are going tomorrow. Report from a friend who is visiting where we wanted to go originally says it is snowing up there. We will have to check some weather reports before deciding.
