I used Trow & Holden tools. The feathers and wedges were not all the same size. As I recall I had 10 that were 7/8 inch hole, 5 inch depth and the remainder were smaller 1/2” x 2.75 deep. The rock was about 15” thick so the smaller wedges were at their limit.

How did you get all your holes to be in the same plane? Did you just eyeball it? Or did you use a laser, level or plumb bob to line them up? I have used a Microblaster to break rocks. When I drill, I just eyeball it. Would like to pick up some feathers and wedges..

I think I used a string to lay it out. And a wax lumber crayon to mark the drill locations.

You start needing a gigantic rotary hammer drill for projects like this. This site is on a woods road 1/4 mile from the paved road and I had access to a Caneycom for hauling tools. And the blessing from the State Park to open up the gate.

Is that the 1 5/8” or the 1 7/8” version of the Bosch hammer drill? All I have is the SDS plus version as my setup uses 5/16” bits. A lot smaller…

    That’s a RH540M, 1 9/16 SDS max. It was on sale for $389 when I bought it.
