Not mine I stole this from 288lite View from the shop. Envious of the set up and the view. Always wanted to try slab wood
I’ve been into photography since 5th grade. Had a darkroom and all that - I grew up and live in the home city of Kodak. Switched to digital in the early 2000's. My latest interest is Astrophotography - it combines two of my interests - astronomy & photography. I'm still learning a lot about it - a steep curve. Here is one of my latest creations. This is the Horsehead & Flame nebula region in the constellation Orion. For perspective on what part of the sky this is of - If you're familiar with Orion, the brightest star in my pic is the leftmost star in his belt - named Alnitak. The nebula are ~ 1400 lightyears away. And for size perspective - the horsehead itself (the darky protuberance jutting up in the center of the pic, which... looks like a horse head) is 4 light years tall and 3 ly wide. This image is a combination of ~ 100 5-minute exposures - which is ~ 7.5 hours of total exposure. Images were captured in my backyard the evenings of 11/5 & 11/6
That was a windy day, I guess the climate here is generally fairly windy a lot of the time. But I've never left the island to know the difference. There are several places I'd love to visit someday though if I have the time and money.
I just went back to page 5 and looked at my moon pic there. This fone takes a better picture than my expensive camera... And! I didn't even use a tripod.
