    OK your probably right thinking about upgrading splitter too, stove comes first. I can split pine popular birch etc 8 to 12 inch rounds faster with a maul. granted I only do in half to make ends for the stack. My saws eat pine popular birch in seconds where apple elm and sugar maple seem so much longer. Granted elm and maples are bigger and apples always a pain. Or maybe it's just when the big ones break and take out a birch I do birch first so I'm not tired yet. Nah that can't be it!
