Wow, I thought the Pats would win but that was downright ugly for the Colts. I hope that the Pats can beat Seattle, if for no other reason than to force Richard Sherman to shut his loud, ignorant piehole.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/01/19/league-confirms-ball-deflation-investigation/ Another cheating accusation for New England. I hope Seattle kills them in the SB.
I've found that most of the people that whine on the internet about the Patriots being cheaters are just jealous and actually don't know much about football at all.
I hate a cheater. There's nothing worse with the exception of a theif. With that said, we (Colts) needed a lot more than more air in the ball to compete yesterday. A running game would have been nice. I guess I will be a Seattle fan for 2 weeks now.
now your talking sense But I always root for the teams in my home teams conference ( NFC), If GB would of won yesterday I would want them to win the SB, same in baseball I always root for the AL teams to win the WS as the Mariners are in the AL
LOL right. I guess spygate had nothing to do with their 3 SB wins and 0-2 since. Hopefully 0-3 in a few weeks. It's not like spygate is some type of conspiracy theory....it really happened.
I'm not saying the Pats won because of the ball. Indy just flat out sucked. But it seems like the intent was there.
Yes and numerous past and present players, coaches and other NFL professionals have stated that all other teams videotape their opponents. The only difference with the Pats is that they got caught. The Patriots lost the last two Super Bowls because of a few plays that had they gone the other way they would have won the games. It's like that a lot in the NFL. Last night's NFC Champ game for example. If just one or two plays had gone differently the Packers would have won. But oh no, when the Patriots are involved it's always about cheating. It couldn't possibly be that Belicheck is one of the best football minds in the world or that Brady is one of the all time great QBs. If you actually believe that the only reason that they won three Super Bowls is because of spygate then please don't bother talking football with me because that is beyond ridiculous. It's something a 12 year old boy typing on his mom and dad's computer would say, not something a grown man who understands the game of football would say. As for the whole underinflated ball thing last night. I believe that the NFL rules stipulate that the officials inspect the balls before the games. The refs also handle the balls constantly during the game. Odd that they didn't notice anything then isn't it? Also, don't the Colts play with the same balls? I'm not sure but if they do then how would it be an advantage for the Pats? I like sports and football just as much as the next guy but it's sad that some people get so caught up in it that they can't apply reason and logic.
If you substituted the wood "football" in that sentence with any other passionate issue, the statement remains true to so much behavior. Time to step back a bit at look objectively at the situation. The Pats won because they outplayed their opponent. It is beyond reason to think that air in the ball would have made a difference in those runs and the 45 to 7 score. Sour grapes.
Last I knew, the Colts had to play with the same ball. Why not blame the loss on the rain while you're at it. The article is actually pointing out failure of the refs as they are in charge of which balls are on the field during the game ( they had to stop play once for the wrong ball on the field) ( http://www.nfl.com/rulebook/ball ) and also in charge of inspecting and maintaining the playability of the game balls. Sour grapes in Indianapolis . Pretty sad when you purposefully characterize a possibly under inflated set of balls as purposefully deflated rather than consider the myriad number of ways a set of balls could end up soft especially when the temperature swings 40 degrees. #sourgrapes
I think part of the problem is that since the Patriots have been so successful over the last 15 years or so there has developed a jealousy and animosity toward them across the league. This week it's Indy with underinflated balls. Last week Harbaugh was complaining about the formation and eligible receivers. If they win it all is there going to be some new story to try to de-legitimize their victory?
I typically am the same way. I nearly always want the team that beat mine to win, but I can't in this case because I don't like Seattle's current team, starting with the coach. I also don't like Seattle's fans, (present FHC company excluded ) because there are a lot of fair weather seahawk fans. Seahawk fans were booing their team just before halftime, and many left before the end of the game. Packer fans don't leave games early. My sister in law grew up in Seattle, and she is a non football fan until days there are big games. Then she roots for Seattle. My bother and sister in law have lived in the Tampa area for a good 14 years. They were both big fans of the buccaneers when they won their Superbowl in the early 2000's. I lived in Maine for a brief time too, and almost moved to Portland Oregon. But I didn't, and the wife moved here to Wisconsin from Portland instead of me moving there.
Maybe not the exact same ball but the same sets of balls the refs type-accepted and subject to the same weather conditions. Just because some loonie tunes in Indianapolis has made inferential accusations that "somebody" (and of course a "patriots" somebody ) may have tampered with balls on the sidelines doesn't mean it happened. And it doesn't mean the NFL is looking into Patriots cheating when they may be looking into why some balls may have been removed from play ( and they often do in many games ) . The current ideological culture of (a certain demographic in this country) demeaning those who who work hard to achieve success has it in for organized sports in part for its wealth. Any of us who have wanted anything more than handouts in life really should be pushing back.
