Advise on tractor for skidding

    I'm amazed at the wood my brother skids with his winch and L3540 Kubota. Another recommendation to spend the money on a winch.

    I have a uniforest 35m winch. I really like it but i also dont have anything to compare it to as its the only winch i have owned.

    I don't believe that I have ever heard of a "bad" skidding winch. Not like they sell them at horror fraught.......well yet anyway.

    I agree! I have the small Fransgard 2800 on my Kubota L2501 at an idle it will drag a good size log no problem if the log happens get hung up the clutch on the winch will slip. The self releasing snatch block is a must IMO. Just remember safety first.
    I tipped my old tractor over because I was pulling at a slight angle (not a good day) if only I had the snatch block it could have been avoided.
