he doesn't want to move on the price and won't come clean if their is a lien on it.
It's so much better to deal with people that are financially strapped or actually need to sell the thing their listing - this guy is just seeing if someone will jump

I'm going new and keeping it for a good long time. I want the warranty and local service. These guys have been good to me with other stuff I have bought from them.

Agreed, not coming clean on the lien is a deal breaker quick.

I'm thinking it might be a bit big for what I want to do but much more budget friendly. We'll see if it's for real so many scammers on c-list.

The L series and larger are braced. The BX is a full frame so it does not need it. I can't remember if a B has a full frame.

When I had the Bobcat the one mechanic from the dealer told me they had a customer break a big New Holland in two. He chained the loader to a stump and the 3 point and was lifting with a both at the same time and broke it in two:rofl:

There is a guy on a tractor forum that said when he needs money he buys a new tractor. He trades his old one in and the dealer gives him a check for it even though he owes money on it. So I would be cautious of buying a used tractor even from a dealer. I think they file a UCC (I think that is what is called) so there is probably a way you can check and see if there is a lien on it.

That's crazy. I kind of understand it but not really??? What good is getting cash today to just have to pay it back in subsequent months in installments?

Sounds like a handful of "rich" guys playing the odds with their toys. They are still liable to pay off the loan (make payments) but in order to gain some quick cash they trade or sell their current machine, and continue to make those payments while pocketing the sale price. Then they go buy another machine with some kind of finance promo but that only adds a second payment..... am I missing something here? Guy spends X/mo on tractor payment, needs 10k in cash to pay off his mistress, sells old tractor, pays off mistress, buys new tractor for Y/mo and now has X+Y for a monthly?

That's my point. I know everyone's pay is not steady and stable. But I know I make X every month, with very little waiver even from year to year. So if I don't have the money now I won't have it in 5 months?

I guess if he want to take advantage of some rebate that he knows only comes every few years and is not quite ready to trade his current tractor you can do this? But he said when he needs money assuming he spends that money on something today his pot to make payment ts on the old tractor is gone so is don't understand. And if you keep the cash from the sale just to pay back for the next year, what's the point to not pay it off when traded or to trade in the first place?

That is what I have always done. Bought used with low hours. Used for a couple years, got a crap load of work done, and then sold them. Usually made out well.

But this time I said I'm tired of going through all that B.S. Buying new, get warranty, and have a good service shop to back it from local dealer and keep it for a long time.

It's guys using Kubota's 0% financing and at the same time probably writing off the equipment - that they no longer actually possess but are paying for.

The 10k in your above scenario could also be invested in a larger implement - more production/reduced costs etc. and yields a payoff in one harvesting season.

There are some dubious individuals selling used machines on the private market with intents of not paying off the finance office and assuming they are going to pay the note, its all a buyer be ware - personally I'd want a title search(really aren't any for tractors) but possibly Kubota Finance through a dealer would offer it for a fee, but then you'd need seller consent for disclosure
