Again, I'm no expert, but the L is build on a sturdier and heavier frame with generally higher capacities for everything (FEL, 3-pt, etc.) Someone who knows better could give you more details.

More flow on the hydraulics. The tractor is longer and wider. Larger tires.

B is like a WR, L is more like a TE.

    How's that?

Also in the L series there is the Standard L and there is the Grand L. The Grand L is a deluxe tractor. It also has more lift capacity on the FEL and 3PH. An L3240 or 3540 would be a very nice tractor for you.

The B2650 looks like a good middle weight contender in the orange corner.

Large frame compacts rock! I remember the first Deere 4720 I got to play with.... 60hp was quite surprising in that little package.

Great as long as the TE doesn't break down every season:p

I was going to tell you of a B26 on e-bay, but it's gone already!:picard:I am sorry. I didn't think it would go that fast. He ended auction early, like after a day or less. Someone got a deal. :picard:It had a grapple, thumb on hoe, rake. These are real working machines for smallerish tractors.

The B2650 is not enough power to be under the tier IV emissions. So it it does not have a dpf. I'm pretty sure it has the same engine as the old B2920 so it probably would be easy to get 29hp out of it.

I was wondering what the cutoff was in HP range the EPA website I thought stated all transportable diesel engines movable under their own power were subject to the tier 4?
We ran into a similar CF years back under tier I/II when buying an air compressor at work and literally had to add it to the plant's air permit -even the folks at ADEM thought it was foolish

I think the rule for NOx emissions is for 56kW/75HP and Particulate PM emissions 19kW/25.5hp

I think you are right with 25.5hp.

Kinda like Mahindra did with the Max 28. The same engine is in the 26. I think they are rating them at a lower rpm to be under tier IV emissions. When you say easy to get the 29hp do you think it's in a tune or a re-flash or is there a throttle stop or something or maybe something as simple as running it wide open on a stock tune? Makes me think this is one of those "Volkswagen" deals.

I just looked the 2920 was rated at 2800RPMs and the 2650 is rated at 2500rpm. I thought they might have made a couple tweaks to the injection pump to reduce power. I bet everything is the same.

It's plausible that everything is the same. Like you said though it could be in the fuel mapping.
