Doesn't look too bad. They will need a few sections of roof. Branches tangled in power lines, but did not rip them out. Tree company came and laid it all on the ground. They shredded a lot of stuff I would have taken, but oh well. I have to head back there in a week or two with a larger tractor to safely manage the remaining trunk. We will split it on site, they will keep some. It has been a great fairly quick haul so far, even though I really had other things to do last weekend. Didn't have time to play with chains for the big saw, had to slap on new.... at least I had them on hand.

I hope you have good weather for your splitting party, and you can rustle up plenty of helpers. Looks like you will need a tractor to pick up those big rounds. Think of us, and snap some pics!

While I have a slab wood experts attention. How does it dry? Will it be ready with a summer it be ready to burn in the fall if cut/stacked now.
We use to do slab wood 35 years ago. We would process it with a Buzzsaw. If I remember correctly the stuff we were cutting was dried in no time.

It needs to be out of the rain to dry. The cut sides are like a sponge.

Unfortunately I didn't have much chance for pics. we got it done though. Used my old 32 inch chain that is missing a tooth or two, and finished the cuts without worrying about hitting some dirt, with wedges on top. Split about 4 of the big peices for him, and quartered the rest to bring home. We used the boom pole again, and strapped my counter weight to my snow plow blade since the loader is off. Only pic is of my smaller tractor we used to move splitter and trailer around with, and the two heaviest peices we brought back whole. My buddy that came to help wants to bolt an anvil to one. 20190223_155116.jpg
