MASSIVE. Glad the tree company cut it up, and we got it free. 3 men and a tractor to convert to manageable size. Stuff small enough for my place will need more splits. 20181020_112359.jpg

Like they say, you're only as good as your tools, because those rounds are above my capabilities:tractor:. I call those face cord rounds and this is all can do when I come across them  Good Score!

No slab today, was planned to go bring more home, but the mud means no way to unload, and not about to hand unload again. Got 2 trailer loads from the round pile split until the rain got to be annoying. 20181201_113405.jpg 20181201_134708.jpg

This piece remains nailed together, who knows why and when the nail got there. 20181201_141950.jpg

They are getting better everytime. The one in the orange hat is my boy, the ones in the red hair are his cousins. They are learning to work together. I can do it faster by myself, but that isn't the most important thing.

Somethings not right then. Ask me how I know lol.
For years upon years our buzz saw needed to be run hard to cut even though we sharpened it every year.
Found out about seven years ago we were sharpening it in a rip fashion. It was a rip blade from a sawmill would be my guess. Supposed to be a crosscut blade ;)
Took a 4” angle grinder with a fine paper sanding disc and reshaped the teeth. Cuts twice as fast at an idle now and so much safer.

Negative hook, flat top, 90 degree angle. Cuts like butter.
I even reset the kerf with a vice grip and Mapp torch. Just a little heat to feel like your doing it right lol
About half way done the blade warped. Thought I ruined it. Finished it anyway and the warp went away.

Very interesting.... I need to find a blade though, I accidentally wacked this one with a piece of slab I was attempting to cut, and lost 3 teeth , but at least they came of the blade instead of me.... Seems every blade I have found so far is made of gold!

You might have to go to a fair and buy one with a snow covered log cabin painted on it LOL
I’ve considered it. Don’t think I’d tell the artist tho.
