 :lol:I occasionally look at the county platt maps online and they recently updated our areas maps and you can see my round pile and pickup from last spring, so doesn’t that mean you can see my wood pile from space?

Forgot a pic but couldn’t help myself this morning after work. Cold weather, firm ground....had to go back to get the rest of the cherry I cut the other day. Also got the Fiskars in the mail today, so I’m ready to Give it a try! Going up north for the weekend, so it’ll have to wait till monday. If it’s cold, I’ll be cutting, and if it’s warm, I’ll be swinging the fiskars:yes:

Couldn’t help myself! Beautiful morning out, so I stopped at the wood yard on my way home from work for a little stacking. Stacked what I split the other day which finished a row. B0D09B6E-99B5-4F9D-B77B-C60F23759B84.jpeg

Nice work! Did you stack that whole row? How long does it take you to stack a cord. Ill stack for an hour taking my time and can do half cord in that time.

My pallets aren’t all the same size, but from what I can tell, that row is 8 pallets long. I didn’t have my tape measure with me to see how long the row is, but I stacked almost half of it this morning in about a half hour. Once I’m going heavy on the splitting, I’m gonna do some more testing. How long to split a cord, how long to stack a cord. Maul splitting versus X27 splitting versus tw5 splitting with and without 4 way wedge. Looking forward to it:yes::axe:

Still working that oak that came down earlier this week...
(Yeah. I have to split it up small for the wood stove.)

Nice lookin wood shed! How much does it hold when full? I have a stove that only takes smaller stuff so I know where you’re coming from. Keep up the good work:yes:

I have three covered sheds. Each one holds about two cords.
Problem is I burn about four to six cords a year, so I gotta keep replenishing as soon as I burn. That and technically I live in a rain forest so everything has to be covered and have lots of ventilation. I think I need to build another shed.

Looking good. I like that little electric splitter. How many ton? Thought about getting a little electric one myself since most of the wood i get is easy splitting.

Funny story about that Harbor Freight splitter... (It's a 5 ton.)
I got one of those 20% off coupons. So I went over to the Harbor Freight store and talked to the manager. I warned him, I break stuff...
He said, if you can break it in less than 29 days, it's free. Well, I put some 30" poplar on it, and the darned thing cracked it right apart. Needless to say I was impressed. (It will stop / reset if you try something it can't handle.)
I used to split everything by hand, till my elbows stared giving me fits. So, yeah, if you know how to read wood grains, and don't do stupid, this little sub $200 machine is pretty nifty.
(Sure I wish I had a bigger machine, but I'm on a tight budget, and am one of the most frugal bastards you will ever meet.)
On the plus side, the splitter is so quiet, I can listen to music as I split wood.

Pretty impressive to get that big round up on that splitter and table. Do you put it on the ground for the bigger rounds! As far as frugal bastard....you’re in good company:handshake:

Well, as it turns out, for a 50 year old, I'm still tough as nails. ( Kids these days are soft pu**ies...)
I work on heavy equipment for a living these days, and a hundred pound log is the same as a dump truck wheel.
    Lift with your back, right?
