I remember my parents had one of those as a kid... They use to drop what looked to be quarter size wafers into the water,, probably descaling tablets... Theirs was a Kenmore as well...
I screwed up!!! my humidity level stays about 30% in the house with the dutch oven and the steam dragon, "not" 60%… That's our summer time humidity! Sorry, had a senior moment
Some of you may remember me modifying the top trivet hole in the shield on the Napoleon 1900p a couple years back to accommodate a large stainless stockpot that I have, so the stockpot would sit directly on the stovetop and get some real heat. I fill it up every day (close to 4 gallons) and it'll go through that whole pan of water in 24 hours.....and STILL I have a hard time keeping the humidity in the mid 20's. But it DEFINATELY helps to have that water on the stove. Not too much static, no nosebleeds either......
Well, I received my humidifier today from Amazon.com. No wick to exchange humidity, so it's back into the box and return. Low humidity for another week.
I ordered a brand new one from them and the other one is being picked up by UPS tomorrow. The pot is on the stove. 16% humidity currently.
Wow! Amazon is fast. I have the humidifier set up, running, and the humidity is climbing. I think I'm going to try for the high 30% range in here. If I'm at 75-76 degrees, that's going to feel very warm once humidity is back up to where it should be. No more dry heat.
That's good Fire.....mine that I run in the upstairs living room keeps us at about 30 to 35% and my wife doesn't battle as many nose bleeds.
Most of the things I have seen the ideal # is 35 to 40% in winter. Below 30% is when you can have issues with nasal concerns.
