I have an old Bat Cave Carolina I stove/insert that runs 24/7 here during the winter. I normally run 3-4 cord of wood through it a season. This year may be a little more. It has an 8" liner running up a masonry chimney and the fan really pushes heat through our house. Would I benefit from adding a baffle? How much heat are we losing up the chimney? Would it possibly cause the exhaust temps to decrease, leading to more creosote? Would we possibly reduce the amount of wood we are using? Here is a picture of it in action. You can see the flames going straight up the chimney.
