    I need help. In the film, 'Far from the madding crowd' starring Carey Mulligan, 'Bathsheba Everdene,' owner of weatherbury farm, is seen wearing a plaque hanging from her belt. I have no clue how this relates to farming in mid-Victorian England.
    HELP!

    I think you have unlocked the mystery.
    She is the mistress of the house and farm, so this would clearly point her out to the hired farm hands during harvest time.
