17-year-old Midview High School student killed in crash after prom, 18-year-old driver injured My daughter went to the same event as did these kids , mine made it home . Had a talk with my daughter and told her if she is ever feels unsafe / impaired with NO QUESTIONS asked I will pick her or her friends up and get them home safe . Its not my child that was killed but she was in my daughters chem class. I cant imagine what the parents are going through. Prayers sent. RIP Lindsey
I told this to both of my children way back when. Let them know to never NEVER get into a car with someone that has been drinking. I will go get you no matter what, where, when or why. We'll talk about it at a later date, not then.
Good to hear you good people are having that talk with your children. I remember one day my 2 sons and I went deer hunting. On the way home we came across an accident and I could not help but stop so as to give the kids a good lesson. Some lady had not stopped at a railroad crossing. The train didn't stop either until it got quite some distance from the corner. It drug the van for a ways then it went off into the ditch. Lots of crying and carrying on but fortunately no deaths. But I wanted my boys to see the suffering and then we had a nice long talk about it. Many years later one of my sons got to talking about that day and how the lesson really stuck with him. I'm glad I stopped. btw, this wasn't too far from yooperdave
good for you CNE Deer! my daughter gets lots of talks... I did for my niece now 23 a couple times in college.. sometimes it's easier not to call mom and dad.. once was for drinking.. once because boy was applying pressure... my sister made same offer to my daughter..
