    I did essentially the same trip once, sort of. Flight into LA, first stop a slaughterhouse on the east side of LA, then down one side of the Salton Sea to a feedlot in Brawley, and back around on the other side. It was this time of year, so pretty tolerable, but not really my cup of tea landscape or climate wise. bogydave , I hope you’re having a great time and enjoying some sunshine. Sunset in VT is now, finally, after 5pm!!!

    You should drive past one of those feedlots in June! I've smelled bad things before but the air there is really super thick, especially at night. And to think the RAAM racers are riding their bikes through that and the temperature is usually around 100 or more... Not fun.

    My daughter lives in Poway just North of San Diego , She said the weather has been funky , Even had a thunderstorm

    Today ,
    been raining all day, 60°
    (Need a fire :D )
    ...
    Suspect course to be closed tomorrow due to
    flooding/ standing water... :(
    All this sand & water don’t soak in.???
