    Hello
They can get real nasty with hard black carbon!
A quick pounding with 90 PSI and 25 CFM seems to work quite well. :)
    Anyone else try this?

I run 2 burn pots. When one is in the unit, the other is in a pail of water soaking. I change them out every week and a week in the water and all the hard carbon flakes off, what might be left a putty knife removes. Then I use coarse Scotchbrite and polish the inside and the agitator rod.

Far as a big clean, I tear the unit completely apart and clean everything and lube all the drives and motor bearings.

I'm running it right now as it's getting down into the 40's here tonight. Was cool last night, slept under the electric blanket.

Straight pellets though, no corn-pellet mix.

Was gonna take it apart and do the spring clean. Glad I didn't.

Don, myself, I'd be concerned about getting the oxide in the motor bearings on the draft fan. Have a blast cabinet as well but never considered doing that because of the AO geeing in the motor bearings.

Good point, I lubricated the motor afterward and it seemed fine but it may be better to tape off the shaft.
Have you tried the blasting cabinet on the burn pot? I am going to try it on the BBQ grill grates?
