Yes, the emissions are what most folks seem to fear. That is why most go to the B series but then they end up wishing they had a bigger tractor. However, it is like building a barn. You end up wishing you'd went larger.

We are on all yellow sand here. Industrial tires would work mostly if the sand were not dry. If it is a bit wet then there is some traction.

btw, I planned on getting the 3901 but ended up with the 3301. The reason is the 3901 is not 39 hp and other than the extra hp they are identical tractors. I guess the couple extra hp they get from the injectors. I could not see the extra cost so went with 3301. Yes, I do wish I'd went larger into the next series.

Selling wood on the honor system wow that’s nice.
I’m thinking the wood would be gone and the money box empty in my neck of the woods. Lol and maybe the money box gone too.

I would at least check out the Kioti's. Its worth the extra 40 mile drive. When I was tractor shopping in 2017, I looked at a few brands. The Kioti NX line which is comparable in specs to the Kubota Grand L's and M's. However, the Kubota name was about 9-10k more than an NX while the NX had better specs as far as lift capacity, GPM of flow, 3 point lift, etc.

More comparable to the LX would be the Kioti CK line.

The LX's are a pretty new line for Kubota, so no track record yet good or bad.

I'm not knocking Kubota, they make great tractors, and my father has had a L3710 for about 20 years. I'm just saying at least check out other brands. I feel like Kubota has gotten so big, that people are paying for the name like with John Deere.

sirbuildalot I certainly have been doing a little digging on the Kioti's as well. I first was introduced when watching the "Back 40 Firewood" Youtube Channel, not realizing that they were pretty much Bobcat machines.

Although the LX is a new line for Kubota, they pretty much are a "renamed" version of the B50 series (B2650 & B3350) with some updated designs. The biggest change i think would be in the 33 HP version where the LX3310 receives a completely new engine to hopefully push away the issues the B3350 had.

I would argue, after comparing the specs, the Kioti CK line is more comparable to the L series tractors whereas the Kioti CX line is more comparable to the Kubota LX series.

It certainly is making hard to decide which one to get. It's a big investment and I want to get it right. Everything I have read/heard is to pick one and then get the next size up. I certainly have my eyes on the LX/CX, but now I am opening up to the L/CK.

Yeah, Kioti made the Bobcat compact tractors. My bad, I didn't even think of the CX line. Those are new just like the LX line from Kubota.

I will say this. You mentioned snowblowing and mowing which the smaller more nimble LX or CX would shine.

    However.....

You also mentioned IBC totes. They make 275's and 330's. Even a 275 when stacked full of green wood, is going to be in the 1500-1800 lb range if heavy wood like Oak or Hickory. If you look at the lift capacities, you'll quickly note that a cage sticking out 3 and a half feet that weighs 1800 lbs is not going to work on these small machines. You may lift it a few inches off the ground, but driving with them, stacking them, putting them in a truck bed, or on a higher trailer isn't going to happen.

They say buy a size bigger than you need, and I agree. I debated between a CK and a DK or NX. I'm glad I went the route I did. Once you start using the tractor, you'll come up with a whole host of other uses you hadn't even considered. Grappling big logs, making a man box to work out of, grading, raking, etc. The bigger machines lift higher, and lift more. They are more stable and safer in my opinion. With 10 acres, Id be heavily leaning towards a bigger machine. The smaller machines really shine for smaller "neighborhood" lots in the 1-3 acre range.

Here is a 330 gallon IBC full of fresh cut wet hardwood stacked tight, lifted 9 feet in the air. Rock solid.

sirbuildalot what model is your kioti? Hp? $?
My friend had a 30hp kubota and moved to 50hp. Said he should have got 50 to begin with.

My Kioti is an NX4510, 45hp. I don't recall the exact amount, I ordered a bunch of implements with it when I got it. I believe it was about 28-30k for the machine itself. I'll have to look at slips to make sure I'm not lying.

NX series is a little fancier. More standard equipment that is optional for the DK's.

Edit...I just looked at the Kioti site. They also have different loaders.

Anyone have experience with Mahindra? Does Kioti cost less than Kobota and mahindra?

I did some internet pricing on the 3 manufacturers hydrostatic models 47-50hp
The Mahindra with 3rd function was the most $

is hydrostatic a must? I’m an old school tractor guy, so wouldn’t mind power shuttle to get the most bang for the buck.

The dealer I bought my tractor from also sells Mahindra. He told me in small machines, the Mahindra easily outsold the Kioti. In larger machines the Kioti easily outsold the Mahindra. I know Mahindras are pretty heavily built, and they have good specs. I think the price is higher than Kioti. The LS tractors are the new up and coming brand I believe.

Hydro is not a must. I have the power shuttle and love it. Hydro is nice if you do a lot of snow blowing or mowing. It does rob some of the power, and adds to the cost.

Redneckchevy I've been through the Ladysmith a more than a handful of times. Grew up a little close to you about 10 miles west of Medford.

Chud So far so good. One week I sold 5 for a theoretical $25, but there was only $22 in the box. Other than that, everything has been accounted for.
