Got the last of the locust stacked. That pile ended up being 9 totes and pictured is all 19 of them I have at the moment.

Started the day working on the larger Goldilocks logs. Got a bunch cut and staged for the tw6. Then I started working on the big tree service oak that was dropped off this week. The tractor barely got the log pictured off the ground and it was cut to 64” in length. I only cut the big stuff to pieces the tractor could lift and then placed them in another area I will be splitting soon. Plan on cutting them to 16” tomorrow.
Also pictured is a bunch of silver maple that was dropped off this week.

Good luck on the big stuff. Doesn't look too bad.

On that knotty oak log, will you trim the knot nubs flush? I almost always do for better stacking.

Probably not as most will be ugly boiler wood so I’m not wasting more time on them.

I forgot you take the uglies/nuggets for personal use.

Ugh. Can I say it again? I hate these big pieces! Spent way too much time and energy breaking them down to get ready for the splitter. Still have a few more which I will tackle tomorrow.

Its okay Joe, you're among friends! :D At least its done and over with...for now. Go hit the Goldilocks pile and you'll feel better.

The new tree guy I've hooked up with called me Friday with his latest cut. 3' diameter red oak, mostly gnarly limbs and barbed wire sticking out near the bottom. I might've considered some but they had partly bucked it up and of course the wrong length and crooked cuts. Plus they were working and I'd be in the way and they had to get it done.

He has a new cut starting Tuesday and I get dibs. Half hour ride one way but I'll check it out.

And you can usually totally customize the size and shape of them too, that's a bonus for the hard work

After 10 more cuts with the 36” bar this morning, I was very happy to return to my Goldilocks oak.
Also took some inventory on ibc totes and came up with the following:
    40 bins of short wood
    19 locust
    8 pine
    7 cherry
    4 hickory.

    Need more locust...just sayin' :woodsign:

Its amazing how fast you can zip through the right sized logs and I can't blame you for buying those loads. How many cords did each load yield? Buying anymore of them?

Have two oak piles growing side by side. One is a little over 50’ long and the other is a little over 40’ long. Have a good amount of 14”-18” oak staged for the tw6.

Added 4 bins of hickory to the bin tally this week. Still plugging away at the oak piles as usual.
