Thank you metalcuttr . One of the sides is not quite square the way it should be and some of my slats are not as parallel as I would like. I suppose you would have to look hard to see, but since I am the one who created it, I know all the mistakes I made. When I see some of the stuff people like you have made here on FHC I know I am truly a "ham and eggar" like Rocky said when he compared himself to Apollo Creed. That's what I meant by the title to this thread about a man's got to know his limitations.
Shoot! Looks fine to me. Those gaps won't hurt nothing. Those things tend to get beat up pretty fast anyway. Just the nature of other people that didn't put in the time. Plus the wood is your work, and everything around the hearth also. Might as well put your complete signature on it! I like it too. I want to build a bin out of some beetle kill pine that I've got in the shop. The problem is my son is just coming into his testosterone laced strength. It's like having a bear running around tearing up stuff looking for something to eat. I know that soft pine might have a live grub in it, if you know what I mean
Thanks Camber . I appreciate it man. Little pieces of bark or wood crud won't be hard to clean off a tile floor. There is something to be said for making something yourself--flaws and all. I know what you mean. My son turned 16 in April. Testosterone levels are high here too. He's already a few inches taller than I am. I think I'm still stronger, but not for long! If you do build that bin make sure to post some pics!
As someone who has built quite a bit of furniture, I think it looks very nice. Looks like it goes nicely in the room and with the stove. Great job.
Thank you Locust Post . I'm counting on it! I actually can't wait for cold weather to start burning again.
Looks VERY NICE...GOOD JOB!..I need to get one by the beginning of october......itll be here before we know it.
Very nice and the decorations plus the cookie really add a lot to it. What will be your next project?
No that is way north of me. My area is still considered NE but I am close to the southern edge. I do believe we have a few members from that neighborhood though.
