a Little visitor

Didn't know these even existed in WI. First Time I have seen one in the wild. I do not know the particular name/type Later on I came across another in a different location . about 1.25-1.5" long.

 

That almost looks like a little tree frog. Around here you rarely seen them but you can hear them.

 

Yup, looks like a tree frog for sure. We usually see 2 or 3 every summer up here.

 

Agreed, tree frog.
I get them all over the place.

They can be a nuisance at times.
Have had a couple get into the bathroom and do their "calling".


Not as bad as the cricket that wanted to take up residence in the bedroom wall though.


Talk about losing sleep, I was nearly willing to burn the house down a few nights over that bit of fish food.

 

Tree frog. They can change color like a chameleon.
Last year we had a bazillion of them. This year nary a peep.

 

We have a ton of them around here...probably because of the lil fountain (frog pond) out front. Sometimes on a nice summer evening it sounds like we live in the rain forest with all the "peepers" singin.
The other night the light over the kitchen sink was on and when I was going to bed I noticed a lil frogger on the window just like chris 's pic above...I think he was eating the bugs that were drawn to the light inside the window.

 

yes, they sure do change colors. This is the same species.

We actually have 2 species that are similar in Wisconsin. the Eastern Grey tree frog, and Cope's grey tree frog.

 

What I always enjoyed in the spring was listening to the peep frogs...then we have the katydids now.....sounds like there's a million out lately....

 

Usually see them on porch windows, interestingly enough close to propane tank.. On north side of house.

 

We have them up here in the U.P. too.
