Went to check on a standing dead elm to cut down yesterday. I got 5 feet into the woods when I immediately knew I had done a bad thing.

We call them stick tights around here. Not sure of the botanical name for the plant itself. I'm just glad I didnt have the dog with me. I'm not sure she would have liked getting wire brushed to get them offon her.:hair:
I'm also glad I didnt get pulled over on the way home. There was no way I was getting into my truck with all that mess clinging to everything so I threw my pants in the bed of the truck and drove home in my BVD's.

    LOL
We have those here. What a PITA.

There's a grass ( or grass-like weed) that grows in the lawn that has some that stick to socks too.

I don't think I've ever had more than I could pick off one by one though.

They seem to be worse this year in my area than normal. It has been very dry. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the crop or not.
When I get done cleaning a pair of jeans from an episode similar to yours, and I'm sure I have gotten every last one, it's not the case. They seem to find their way into another article of clothing and the dryer screen. They truly are a PITA!!

It's a good thing you didn't have the pooch along. Those are extra crappy to remove from dog fur.

When those are really super bad is when you go out with some fleece clothing on. Really nasty stuff and anyone who has ever done much hunting, especially pheasant hunting, knows well how bad that can get.

They are bad here too. Lots of fun getting them off of the cat.

Crap. There's a ground bush that has just about the same thing found near the ocean. Barbs are just straight hideous. About a 1/4 inch long and look like a crown. I looked up the name for this damm thing and forgot about it. It can grow to this small plate size but often it can be like a bunch of them. So if you get one shoe covered in them, you're gonna get the other one covered in a matter of time.

LOL yeah those things are horrible. Stick to everything including shoelaces and jeans. Cat will get them all the time, this time of the year. I have not had much trouble if wearing canvas duck pants though.
