I've got about 5 cord ready to go, burning it as we speak. Stacked in February I think & nice & dry now. Good stuff. That takes some serious "want to" right there.
Well , over the years things have gotten better, now i have a 25 yr old 026 my wife won for me, 25yrs ago, and, i bought a new stihl ms 193T which is a WHOLE lot better than using that old 056. I sold it to my brother and replaced it with a 044. lol. In fact, next week, i'm attacking the neighbors big maple in his yard. I've trimmed it in the past, but, renters they had in it didn't want it trimmed. So, now, its almost out of hand, growing like the proverbial weed it needs some serious trimming. This is off the subject of the silver maple, but, it is a maple. Its got quite a lean to the east, but, its solid. Just a mass of limbs that have to come down. I'm guessing he might want to just cut it down in the long run. I took 2 heaping pickup loads of leaves from it last year.
Stacked in February, yeah I'm sure it's dry. I cut, split, and stacked a few cords of silver maple this spring, and it's definitely burnable now. I am not planning on bring this silver maple until next year though. It wasn't optimal, but it worked. My dolkita weighs about 1 lb less than my buddy's 046, and my 029s is maybe a a little lighter than the 6421. But the kicker is that my stihl top handle 015L isn't running. That would be the ideal saw. I'll need to get the top handle running before I tackle any other of these Ash.
yeah we did, at that time, we were renting, then we bought and paid for the house, it was his wife's idea we trim, then, said, cut it down. And, 30ish years later we still live here. We didn't ''dictate'' anything, i just ask, his wife piped up, ''cut it down''.
