Make a cardboard FHC logo and glue it to a split. Let it sit in direct sunlight for a couple months, peel cardboard. I think someone did that once on here.
Ive seen that on here somewhere. I have some milled MB boards at my oldest stepdaughters. Stickered and covered. Been there since last Fall. Havent been there since November. Ill have to pick out a board, belt sand and try that. Hey wait, i have some downstairs as i type. From last Spring. First mulberry log through buzzsaw's mill.
Lots of mulberry I’ve noticed down with the storms of the past couple weeks or so here. Always love the chance to burn mulberry
Will you go cutting storm wood for free for your own inventory or do you get enough through your tree business/connections etc?
I get plenty for myself, my brother, and selling from what I cut on jobs. Any more that I need or want I am able to get from buddies log pile. Honestly though, I miss cutting firewood in the woods. Haven’t done it the last couple years. Some of it due to the warmer winters making accessing portions of the woods difficult with the barely or unfrozen ground.
I just finished burning 2 cords of mulberry I got from a tree in my yard. I will miss that heat. Burns hot as hell with great coals.
Ha! I forgot about that! It was a cement mixer truck, but yeah, damm near put it in a nasty ditch. Guess you’re not the only one oh, and it was a whole shelter belt, probably a dozen dead ones ripe for the harvest
Not yet, got a couple other scores lined up that I need to get to first. I doubt it’s going anywhere anytime soon. Plus I think there’s a potential good sized ( pretty sure it’s black locust) score about a mile closer on the same road. It’s right around 30 miles one way, so if’n I’m goin that far im’a goin for the locust if I can arrange it
Id go after the BL first myself, but thats just me! Speaking of which, i didnt cut any last week. Ill hit the manic Monday score next week.
It is uncommon here. I haven't scored any in years, but I've got one in my yard the wife wants gone (it started as a weed and I let it grow. The birds love the berries and are very good at spreading the seeds.
