Thanks Doug. I do like nice stacks and go the extra mile for such. Too gnarly trees and wood I usually turn down. A half cord delivery contains few, if any uglies. Some parts of the rest of this will be challenging. Ill noodle into nice "splits" rather than use the hydro. Have you ever cut or sold any honey locust?
Have never cut or seen any HL in the middle TN region. My Dad does have one BL next to his building. I'd love to cut it down for him so I can be an official member of the BL team.
Hit it again this afternoon. Cut up all the limb wood leaving four short chunks for the mill. One gnarly crotch section was a bit of a challenge. 400 ran out of mix and I was soaked. While I was cutting a furry critter bolted out from a log i was bucking. Startled me. I thought it was a rat until I searched and found a baby bunny smaller than my first. Nothing but the trunk left plus a pile of shorts. Maybe a face cord cut today.
Sure is. I took my time and didn't plan on a full load as I'd like to split it off the truck at storage maybe tomorrow or Monday morning. Not looking forward to loading the trunk section. Hopefully this tropical humidity goes away for a while. If not I'll keep nibbling away.
Split the load right off the truck today. Not too bad in the shade. Kinda glad I am as its heavy. Roughly a cord of splits waiting to be stacked. Not sure when I'll head back to the score this week. Supposed to be hot and there is no shade there.
A little stacking today. Roughly a half cord stacked this afternoon. I was in the shade and still sweating like heck. Only angle I could get a halfway decent pic. Stack is about 3x16' and will be 6' tall when done. Lady texted and said I have a week to get rest out of there before the guy comes back to clean up.
Very slowly my friend, very slowly. I pace myself and drink lots of water. Still get soaked. Feel like helping me with the big trunk? I may cut another part load maybe tomorrow if its cloudy.
Can I join the Idiots club? Had some shade to hide under, so not too bad for a July cutting and loading session.

500i and I arrived at the score surprised to see the trunk bucked up to the correct length and mostly moved to the curb. Tree guy had dropped off some walnut pieces and some Norway maple limb wood. Ill take the time to cut those. I loaded the four logs for the mill and dropped at buzz-saw's later on. Just over 4' long and still heavy SOB's. 12" the largest diameter log. Stopped at storage too and stacked for a half hour (no pics)
I use my little morso on the main floor to get the burning season started earlier than if I was just using my furnace in the basement. It’s always chilly in the basement during that time. Feels good down there once I am heating with the furnace once it gets colder.
Those four trunk pieces or so that you loaded must have been a little over 200# a piece if I’m figuring correctly. Are you still going to try to get the stem out of there, or a bit too heavy to handle? What a great score Brad! Nice to run into people who are willing to let you cut in their yard.
Stacked the rest at storage save for some smalls, uglies and nuggets. That stack is 6' tall and 16'long. Roughly a cord so far. I may stop after work tomorrow and grab more. Wasnt really where I intended to stack it as it wont be sold until 26-27. I was in a pinch and its out of the way.
