A little farwood and help with positive ID (oak?)

    That the bark isn't really similar. It's more flaky in his pic, versus the smoother bark in ours

    Looks very similar to white oak that we have here.

    That is not red nor white oak. I have tons of both, no way its either. It might be oak of some sort, however I can say with complete certainty that it is def not red or white.

    Looking at the third pic I am thinking the first tree is black oak, second tree I would say Ash

    Black oak is a species of red oak.

    I agree, the first tree is a black oak. But, I could be wrong.
