I was in the shop tonight and I took a small length of Oregon chain and forged a few links into a ring. The next one I will heat in the coal forge and flatten it thinner to reduce its weight. I ground the bottom teeth off that ride in the bar. Rough shaping. I welded the chain ends together, heated it to bright red and formed it round on the anvil horn and used a punch to help shape it. The cutters were peened over and it went to the wire wheel for cleanup. I definitely needs some refining.
Could sell those for sure. Great idea man. Wish I had some forging equipment to make some things like this. Big props to you for that idea Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
Nice work. Might be cool if you took the cutters off and just had the rivets. Would appeal to bicycle and motorcycle folks too.
Nobody showed you the handshake at the last GTG? Somebody needs to talk to those guys....they be slackin'.
