Decided to come across the front gable. It's a little slow because I'm running the door track, aluminum cover, siding, small 1x2 "trim" at the siding/soffit corner and the battens.
Knees are not happy and I can stuff enough materials on the scaffold to work and finish 8'-10' sections limiting the ladder trips.

Did your better half save any cookie dough for you? My wife always saves a bit of it for me whenever she makes cookies.

My wife surprised me with the same thing day before yesterday. Been years since she made me a batch of chocolate chip cookies. No raw cookie dough for me. First out of HS managing a broodmare farm I would crack 2-3 eggs in a glass, drink them down and go to work. After married my wife, mom and sisters would bake cookies at Thanksgiving and freeze them for Christmas. I always snitched chocolate cookie dough as it is better than the cookies themselves. That night and the nest 2 days spent curled around the porcelain throne. Changed two pants sizes! Have never had the urge to eat raw cookie dough ever again (or show someone how to drink a raw egg!).

    Really liking the progress!

    Thanks JW
Got the front and north side all battened up. Only the corners are missing. I'll do all 4 in one operation.

Looks great. Will you let mother nature weather the exterior or treating it?

I think I'll let it fade unless I hear of an oil or something that might stop the "weathering" once it mellows some. Then I've also heard that all of that type of stuff is just like everything else, just stupidly expensive.
I'm not participating in that chit.

Like so many other areas of the country I’m sure, ‘round here used motor oil is still the go to.
I mean really, if we stopped and watched the process of manufacturing weather protection treatments, would applying spent motor oil be much worse?
    I say no.

I've oiled a fence before and sprayed diesel around all the post's lower 4', twice.
I have a 55g drum nearly full of drain oil and it crossed my mind and it's still a consideration

I am of the used oil group. Firm believer and user of it on my wooden decked trailers and wagons. Hot day, direct sunlight and apply. It will suck it up. And the building won't be a beacon to the taxman, "look at me!!! I'm new!!!". When they say, "when did you build a new building?" you can say, "that old thing?!".
